If you are a model railroader, other than perhaps when the Club was founded 60 years ago, never has there been a better time to become a member of our organization. New Members are accepted only at regular monthly business meetings. See the 'events' page for meeting schedule.
Persons aged 18+ have two options (three options for persons age 18-20)
Option 1:
Probationary Membership is currently $25/monthy (PLUS $30 on join date, and an additional $70 due during first twelve months), in other words, $400 the first year and $300 per year thereafter. After the first year, provided all probationary conditions are satisfied, a Probationary Member becomes a Regular Member and gets unrestricted access to the building. Regular Members have neither attendance nor work requirements.
Option 2:
Auxiliary Membership is $10/monthly. Auxiliary Members DO have work requirements. Visit the Club on a Friday evening to ask for details. Auxiliary Members building access is limited to regular Club operating days, as they are not given a key.
Option 3: (age 18-20 only)
Student Membership is for college students aged 18 through 20 and is essentially half-priced Auxiliary Membership.
Persons aged 13 through 17 may join the Club free of charge as a Junior Member, provided they obtain a Regular Member sponsor. There is a limited number of these memberships available (6 spots as of this writing).
Boy/Girl Scouts ages 7 through 12 may join the Club free of charge as a Cadet Member, provided they obtain a Regular Member sponsor. There are currently 16 of these memberships available.
No one under the age of 7 can be a member, but their parents can join, and upon reaching the age of 7 (Scout or not), can run trains or whatever else is constructive within their capacity.
Children aged 7 through 17 of Regular Members are automatically considered members if they so wish to participate, but they are subject to responsibilities and respectable conduct is expected.
Members age 7-17 have neither attendance nor work requirements, but when sponsorships are full and a minor member is apathetic, they may lose their sponsorship in favor of minors who actively participate, as we are a model railroad club for persons genuinely interested in the hobby, not a hangout!
Additional details are available by visiting the Club on Fridays.
